Alright alright, we back. My bad peeps. Been a chaotic few days/weeks here. Your boy been busy. But shit, the peeps, the fans, the followers have been demanding a new post. So calm yourselves, this takes time man, but we locked in! 3 part series I gotta pick up where I left off… The Typhoon. Yeah that shit was approaching Tokyo. I was nervous, so I bought all my food from the supermarkt for like a week. That’s right, I am cooking. Damn. In London, I know what I am buying or if I am ordering online, it’s all sorted. Max grocery shop 20 min. This time…1h30. I struggled, Google translated every item, bought a lot of unnecessary shit. But for the first two nights I made bulk pasta. Burnt the sauce. Burnt the peppers. So tough understanding the stove in Japanese and temperatures. Pure chaos. No photo required. Rating 7. Also, not going back to the supermarket for a while. Might have argued with the cashier haha.

Once the Typhoon had slowed down, dinner was on the cards again. Hit a delicious Thai spot for some food, pic below. Rating 7.6. No ales, my work mates didn’t fancy it. I fancied Singha. Ended up with Amanzi aka Water.

The weekend approaches fast and Friday, the big man Kobes says he is taking me to his local Ramen spot, but not just any ramen, Tsukemen, just past Shinjuku in an area called Takadanobaba. Tsukemen is a tantalising culinary experience that delights the senses. Imagine a bowl of thick, chewy noodles, perfectly chilled and glistening with a light sheen. Next to it sits a steaming bowl of richly flavoured dipping broth, exuding an irresistible aroma that beckons you to dive in.As you dip the noodles into the savory, umami-packed broth—whether it’s a soy sauce base, a creamy tonkotsu, or a robust miso—each strand absorbs the flavors, creating a mouthwatering fusion. The first bite reveals a delightful contrast: the refreshing chill of the noodles meets the warmth and depth of the broth. The experience is enhanced with a sprinkle of nori, adding a hint of oceanic flavor. Man is Poes excited. You walk out the station and feel the heat, the bright lights. It’s time! The boys are itching. We arrived at the small local joint. 16 people in the place. Get my ticket. Sit at the bar amongst the salarymen all playing anime games. The ramen chef embodies tradition and innovation, drawing from time-honored techniques while experimenting with flavours to create unique offerings. Their dedication to quality and flavor elevates ramen from a simple dish to a comforting experience that warms both body and soul. This has been my best meal I have had in Tokyo so far. I put my bib on, no judgment, and dug in. The food is flying everywhere, my colleagues were laughing at me . “Sorry Liam-san, no knife and fork!”. I brush it off, mans an expert. Haha I finish the noodles and meat. There is leftover soup. You take the boiling water and pour it into the bowl. Wait 5 min, then consume more. Just outrageous. Now I know this isn’t traditional ramen, but for me I would recommend it to everyone. An easy 9.2

After dinner, we hit up some arcade floor, which was such a buzz. We end off bowling. Your boy is a champion. 4 strikes in the last game. Go home a champion

Saturday I went to the imperial palace. Now I missed the tour and cruised by myself. I found that easier and could do it at my own space. On the guided tour you go to certain areas the public cant see. I might go back. In the afternoon, I shopped in Ginza, which is like Manhattan of NY. Your boy a baller. Got some shit that was £5. Cruised home. See picks below of the Imperial Palace and the surrounding areas. Udon noodles from the Family Mart.I had to be up early because the next day… Man was going to My Fuji. The lower slopes are adorned with lush forests, vibrant wildflowers, and serene lakes, while the ascent offers spectacular views of the changing scenery and this is where I will be going on the tour. On clear days, the sight of Fuji-san against a bright blue sky is nothing short of magical. As the sun sets, the mountain transforms into a canvas of colors, casting a captivating reflection in nearby bodies of water. Fingers crossed we gonna see the thing!

I got up early, headed to Tokyo Station. There for 07:45. It’s a bus tour, 30 people. We all get allocated seats for the bus. I sat in the wrong seat. Some fuck wit told me to move. I did. But who did I get stuck next to? The worst human being alive. Some Yank cross German, the most entitled prick ever. Now our poor tour guide, some young enthusiastic guy is tryna get everyone involved, chatting showcasing Japan. This clown got earphones in. Nearly elbowed the cunny in the chest. But I didn’t have coffee and was tired. So listen to Andrew, our tour guide. He was very flamboyant, reminded me a little of nah, never mind. Credit to the young guy, he was doing this in his free time to make a bit more cash as he was busy wrapping up his PHD. Made me think/consider going back to study. Back to the tour. After departing we ended up at a huge lake where you can see Mt Fuji. It was cloudy, man was getting anxious. Few photos, back on the bus, off for lunch. Traditional Japanese spot. Eat on the floor. Now, I never realised how inflexible I was. I couldn’t cross my legs. Lucky the fucker in front my me moved. So I ate with one leg straight and another bent. Horrific scenes. Also, no knife and Fork. Just chopsticks. One bite of chicken, the chicken ends up on the table. Utter Scenes. We carry on the bus tour, stopping at various spots. We eventually arrive at our final spot. A 15/20 min climb to an observation point, a shrine which looks onto Mt Fuji. Just incredible. An amazing view and I just wish the day was a little more clear. Now this is where I started to get angry. Before we departed up this climb, we were allocated 30 min, so basically 20 up and 10 down. Now I’m fit. Wheeeeeeey. Jokes, mans heart rate was at 180 climbing those stairs. On my way down, 25 min have passed some old fuckers are still making there way up. We aint gonna leave on time and we didn’t. So instead of leaving at the allocated time. We were delayed. Gets better… a 2 hour journal home, took 4.5. I walked into my front door at 10pm. Mcdonalds in hand, looking for a cold shower.

Highlight of the journey home… some Kiwis congratulated me on the boks performance the night before haha. Tune of the week, Linkin Park got back together with a new lead singer. Sounds sick. On that note, stay tuned for part 2 which is getting dropped in a few days snakes.
