You know the vibes, its Sunday night. Mans just had himself convenient store Katsu curry. I thought it was chicken when I bought it but turns out it was pork, very fatty haha. Rice was banging fam. Pork was average. Luckily I got some grape thing I can knock out soon. Mans diet is a joke. Losing all the gains uh uuuuuuuuuh. So lets recap the week I had, first week in Tokyo, here we have it.
The week was mainly focused on me getting over my jetlag. Shit was through the roof. Every night I would fall asleep at 21:00 and wake up at 01:00 and stare at the roof until it was time for work. The white noise that Lombard taught me never worked either. Last few days was gyming before work, found that was good for me and helped me sleep. On the work front, I met my leads who gonna support me for 3 months. Also everyday I was assigned a support personal who would show me around and stuff like that. With COVID, not everyone comes in everyday. Everyone has been really cool and supportive. One lady even said on Friday “Liam, you look much better than you did on Monday”. Wonderful, great to know. I met a lot of people this week, some I still have no idea on there names, but they chat to me daily. Just smile and wave really. Will be more attentive this week. Office is 5 min walk from the apartment, they dont want me getting lost. Im actually really glad its close, its poes hot in the mornings. Im sweating my tits off daily! Was also sick this week, had to go to the pharmacy and grab some medicine. Took some screenshots, showed the pharmacist, she explained in Japanese how many pills daily, still got no idea, but was smashing 6 a day with meals! Mans improved very quickly.

Lets chat about my graft quick. Lunch, 3 different sections, 5 options on each, endless choices. I still kinda go for the same thing daily. Poes nervous. Also, cant use chopsticks so well. Couple cats were throwing jibes at me at lunch on friday, like “still knife and fork Liam?” I was like, yeah, its been 5 days, how you think im gonna cut this pork fam? Gotta start practicing man. Didnt work in a Thai spot for two years to forget my skills. Lunch is also only 30-45 min. Im shocked, peeps eat then go back to the desk. Couple cats I know wouldnt survive. 3 or 4 peronis is normally the way to get the best work done.
Food so far. I basically eaten vary diversely this week, from Chicago pizza on day 1 with a few peeps. (it was close to Giordanos, but not as good. 6.8), Mcdonalds, flipping so clean and polite. Northcote Road Mcdonalds can learn a thing or two. Only issue, didnt know my number. Kept going up every time to collect, she pointed to screen and told me to wait. Eventually it arrived. Also eaten a boat load of convenience store food. Some of it is pure class, on that note, can get anything you can think of from there. Got so many chocolates from there. Diet is gone. I got a cracking recommendation from a colleague about a great Ramen spot in the area. I put it in google maps and set off one night. Was passed a station, so white shirts everywhere. Pure tourist, took a video naha. The food was next level. The grand master behind the bar was phenomenal. Food was quick, warm and hearty. A little chilli helped the sickness. Highly recommended for 1100 Yen. On a side note, worked on the chopsticks. Thank fuck nobody saw me eat this, food was flying everywhere. Pictures of food will be uploaded soon. Thank goodness I didnt have a white tee on. For lunch this day they offered horse mackerel, i literally thought it was horse. Was very concerned haha

Weather. Hot. Poes hot. Also, severe thunderstorms just happen. Carry an umbrella. One night I left the office and it was basically a typhoon. I stood outside the building for 30 min waiting for it to calm down. All my workers walked passed me. Laughing at the gaijin. Everyday I take a raincoat to the office now. Bag weighs a ton.

The weekend, first one in Tokyo. Shit. Where do I begin? Friday night Braai. Couple of the lads I have met before invited me to there with there work team. Beers were flowing early doors. Meat was getting cooked. Pork thinly sliced, can go in a taco, soya sauce on the side, and vegetables. Just deliciousness allround. More Beers. Next, charades. Japanese version. I get selected. Pure embarrassment, couldnt continue. Lots of people laughing at my inability to act things out. More beer was consumed. Braai ends, as i am guest of honour, I do the honorary one clap to close the evening. I was glowing now, didnt butcher the clap. All good. Whispers are getting louder, we off to karaoke. Yes man! This is something I wanted to experience. Cant wait. Im practicing songs in my head. Call me MC Grindah, People Just do Nothing, check the clip below. haha Legends! Do I impress them with my rapping ability, or go with something famous. Fuck it. Oasis. 5 of the boys in the booth, its going off, beers are flowing. Bon Jovi, to Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and Avril Lavigne. My one mate started rapping in Japanese. I was impressed man. Shit. Japanese culture with beer, when the glass is nearly empty, top it up. My glass was never empty. The evening ends, the boys are buzzed. Home time.Need a paracetamol or powerade for tomorrow. Get some sushi and cruise.

Wake up the next day, dry mouth. Completely hungover. Cant move. Told all the staff I was heading to Shibuya Crossing. Cant let the hangover stop me. Today is the first day navigating the underground, what an experience. Fuck. 33 degrees. Mans in a white shirt. Sweating fucked again. Like down my back. Need wetwipes for the future. Head is pounding. Find a cracking coffee shop, sit and breathe. Onions are kicking down. Bad. I order a Gibraltor similar to a cortado. It does the trick but I am off. Got google maps on lock playa. Sunnies are on also. Get to Shibuya Crossing. The busiest intersection in the world.Such an experience, I wanna come back at night and see it with the lights. I find a viewing point and chill. Need more water, maybe a Lucozade? Its hard to put into words whats going on here, its just something you need to experience. The hustle and bustle, the various personal from all over the world, its so sick man! Chill time is over, gotta get to Harajuka. Stop, ham sandwich and more water. Japan is so clean but what astonishes me is there are no bins. Im walking with my empty sandwich packet and water bottle. Loving life. Harajuka is humming and the weather is cooking. Tourists for days and shops with anything you can think of. Takeshite Street is amazing, I wanna come back, but when its cooler and I am not hungover. I decide to walk back to Shibuya. Gotta get those steps in. Dinner, pot noodle (so good by the way) and some chocolate. Thought I would get to be early but the demons crept up. Footy was on so fell asleep to that. Cant really watch TV, no idea what I am watching. Watched Van Wilder again, tune of the week below inspired by the movie, loved Tara Reid, but Sophia Bush was incredible in the movie. Might get into Anime now since I cant watch shit. Maybe a bit of PH I also watched on Saturday. Steady the nerves. Couple Skommels.

For those that know me personally, one of my biggest fears is heights. I am shit scared of them. So what did I do on Sunday. Booked a ticket to Tokyo SkyTree. Took my camera, got to the top, spent 20-30 min up there. Views were insane, check the photos below. Again, wanna see it at night, but not sure I can handle the heights again. Haha. Im stoked I did it. However, took me 20 min to leave the damn building, so confusing man. Made my way to the Asahi head office building. Haha man loves Asahi. I am coming back here for a beer. Needs to be done. Walked up to Senso-ji. A beautiful temple in the city. Loads of little shops lead up to the temple. You suppose to throw money in there and then prayer. Forgot cash, need to come back. Also, wearing a dark grey shirt today, sweating worse than yesterday. Thank goodness the trains have aircon on them but even better, they got TV on the trains. The shows are hella weird!! Like people pretending to be dogs it looks like. I cant tell. Also nobody speaks on them haha Personal space is also not a thing. I know I am not tall but crisis, please could you move just a little. Love a bit of a sweaty arm on me haha

Pause cunnies. Just had my grape jelly thing, very delicious but weird. Like jelly, but with actual grapes in them. Very refreshing on a hot day. haha

Week 1 done, got a shit ton still to do. Loving it all so far even though I talk to the wall on weekends. Will try open up a comments section on the blog once I know how to operate this shit. Till then, Mansinjapanmybru
