Shogun in the making…

After a vigorous week and coming back to a bit of health, I was due some exercise, so I needed to go for a run. Everyone recommended seeing Tokyo from rainbow
bridge. I ran towards the bridge, got completely lost, asked a stranger for directions on how to get across the bridge (google translate). Walked around the dockyards for 5 min. Was like a scene out of the Sopranos, I could have been shot, dropped in the ocean and nobody would have known. Eventually found my way, gotta catch an elevator to the top and continued the run. If you ever in Tokyo, these are the best views from the bridge and the other side on a small beach. Lots of couples having a picnic and taking in the sights. Your boy sweating worse then a pedo at a school play. Had to catch the train back a fair distance and then continue running. Holla at your boy on Strava.

Tuesday Night, you know the vibes. We locked in for Ramen. This time we are hitting Kawasaki for spicy ramen. Its like Tsekumen but just pure heat. Catch the train with the usual crew but we missing a few suspects tonight, cats be working hard. I chose heat level 3, pure soft. Shinya san 7 and Kanta san 10. Kanta was crying at the end, had a fan on his face, some wet wipes, downing water. Check that red bowl below. I tried some of his. Was smashing water. He was in a bad way the next day. I will return and try 7. The Ramen itself is very good and the vibes were calm. A lot of influencers try this ramen cause of the heat, so no videos. Haha Justice.

A meal I need to call out was my option of a Mexican burrito. I tried a California Burrito. Last time I had one was in Texas with some degenerates however reminded me more of my time in Miami. Shit was pure class. Portion could have been bigger but I understand why Asians are skinny. Next time I go, need to smash something on the side or I can just stay completely shredded. The work week ended, and ales were in order. Hit a small Izakaya for some Japanese BBQ. Tongue was on the menu and was surprisingly delicious. I think this was my first time for tongue, well its been a while. Whey. Calm down. We cooked the food at the bar. (Very high chance this establishment could burn down if something goes wrong). But we were pros, your boy knows how to braai. Took control. Food was class. Nearly every place in Tokyo has great food. Afterwards got the shout for a spot in Shibuya called “The Church”. Aint been to church in years, would probably burst into flames if I walked into one. Head to a Seven 11, pick up a strong zero and get ready. Now this strong zero, 9%. Man was flying. Had the glow on heading into Shibuya. Even before I left the apartment, was cleaning up acting like Anna Sawai was coming back with me. Changed the sheets, flipped the pillows, cleaned the counters. Call me Don Juan. The anticipation is building, mans had a few, confidence is rolling, the swagger is high, time to make it happen. Everyone is like that Kevin Hart meme, waiting on some good noise. But I guess we waiting on another night …Great night though, good ales, good vibes, shout out to the crew for some decent ales and laughs.

Saturday was a struggle, woke up cotton mouth and with a light on. Long day ahead and doesn’t help got plenty activities on the go. First up, Samurai experience haha. All the Shogun that I watched, till someone spoiled the ending for me, I was like shit, I gotta do this. So here we go. Shogun Quinn aka The 5’3 Garden Gnome Samurai was born. Was put in a class of about 8 people. I stood there already knowing I was the best. We go through how to swing the Katana, the movements, everything. I donned the ninja outfit, got a sword and started practicing. We go through the routine. Then its fight time. I am ready. Locked in fighting some American fella in front of his bird. Cat was 6 foot 2. No problem. I spark him. Unfortunately… best of 5, lost the last 3. Gutted. We carry on the tour and learn so much about the Samurai way of life and “Edo” time. We threw a few ninja stars, but something was off with my technique. The skommeling has effected my wrist action. After all of that, I am ready to get to the mountains and begin a new life. Might buy a Katana and send it back to London. Game changer. Check the routine below.

Afterwards cruised to TeamLab which everyone was telling me to visit. An interactive experience cruising through a museum. Spent a good hour or so in there. If you in Tokyo, it’s a must. Braved the queue and get it done. Long day got home like 19:00 and was shattered, some sushi and then rest with some content uh uh

Big Sunday Got golf today. So, I am up at 6:30 for the train at 07:30. Fucking data runs out and its raining. No idea if golf is going ahead. Head to Kamakura. Link with the lads early. Hit the range. Been ages since I was on the course. Normally my weekends would involve Michael and myself smashing up Shirley Park like Scottie Scheffler and Sanith Theegala. Bunch of absolute steam cats. Back to Kamakura. Tee off is 10:19, mans tired already. Nerves are high. We get a golf cart, but we don’t drive it. Its all automatic. We do nothing. It just cruises along, and sensor driven. Problem is, its very slow. First 9 holes, I was playing at a good
standard. Lunch time. 01h30 minutes. I kid you not. I nearly fell asleep. Bit of udon for lunch and some sashimi. Then we had to go and play a back 9. Can barely lift a club Changed up the teams, we back out. Got pair up with an absolute steam cat, Yu-san. Funniest cunny I know and made the day that much better. End of the day, 17:30. Shot 90. Calm down. Also, Kamakura Public Golf Course was incredible, the hospitality, the food, everything. The standard was set very high. Would love to see what a private golf course is like.

As we move back to Tokyo, a few ales are on the cards. We hit an Izakaya, and someone says “Liam-san, every tried horse”. Love to gamble on them, never eaten them. Its presented-on ice, a little frozen. I kind of thought of it as salami. Dropped some garlic on there and ate away. Very chewy. Don’t think I will have that again, but I had to try it. Back home around 20:30. Also, mad shout out to chiefs in Dubai who celebrated the birth of there second child. I believe I am godfather as Solly was godfather of number 1. The tune of the week reminds me of some lyrics from an AKA tune – “congratulate”. One of friends having kids, and one my friends got a piece in the cupboard. Two completely different lifestyles but some of my best pals. Last 4 lines are for me. So thats it for now, I gotta recover and get ready for some more travels. Below is the tune. SA music back in the day… Till next time peeps

“My one homie got a gun in the cupboard
My other homie got a bun in the oven
Baby mama getting big in the stomach
Pop champagne or the Four Cousins
I think it’s time to be a man now
I feel like moving to my grand’s house
Everybody lined up for a handout
Really I just wanna make my old man proud”
